RAW::Only You Know

{Letterpress from lizardpress on Etsy}

Erin, you're the only person who knows what's right for you.

The only one.

And if you already know what this is, commit to it. If you don't, commit to nothing.

Only you know,
The Universe

P.S. Whether you commit or not, Erin, get busy. There are still things to do, doors to knock on, stones to overturn, trees to befriend....

Today's Random Act of Wisdom is brought to you by TUT - Totally Unique Thoughts.

This arrived in my inbox the day that I was wrasslin' with a big decision that will affect my Tesori Trovati Jewelry business. And seeing it helped me know the direction I was leaning was right. How do they do that?

Question:

Do you know what is right for you?

Are you a-wrasslin' with a big decision?

Do you have issues with committing?

What doors do you have to knock on?

What stones do you have to overturn?

What do you think you will find there?
Do tell!

Enjoy the day!

P.S. Check out the Art Bead Scene today for my post Opportunities Knocking: Collaboration where you can watch a video of my Gallery Q exhibit. Leave a comment on the Art Bead Scene post for a chance to win a giveaway of some of the art beads that I had commissioned for my first ever gallery exhibit!

Hi Erin,
I watched your video story about your show and it was awesome!
On to your questions:
Last night I came to a big decision, for me, that I was done with college. This was a hard decision for me because two of my most favorite professors were going to work with me this semester on ceramics and metals. I have been tossing this question around in my head for weeks and yesterday it came to a head. I spent a long time talking with mom and decided I needed to stop. My focus has change and it is not college anymore. My focus is now our jewelry business and what we can do to make it thrive and be better. I knew this was the right decision because it felt like a ton of bricks were lifted from my shoulders. I really didn't realize how much I didn't want to go back to college until I made that decision.
Now it is onto working hard on making our business thrive. I want to submit more of our pieces to magazines and do more jewelry contests. I hope we find more and more challenges in our work in the days, weeks and months ahead!

I know what is right for me. Sadly, it's in direct conflict with what is right for the other important person I have to make decisions for. And so yep - I wrasslin' with a BIG decision right now!

Wonderful quote from Daniel. We are so blessed to have had him be such a visionary with his BIG plans for downtown Chicago. He truly was a man before his time. And fortunately, his recorded diagrams are not ignored my our City planners.
As for my own plans, they are moving slowly as I redesign them in light of being unemployed. So, yes, wrassling with decisions these days keeps me busy!
Best of luck with your new big decision.

Hi Erin! What a great post. My big issue is whether to continue on as I am doing...running my shop and working part time to feed myself or quitting the part time job and focusing even more on my business. But how do I expand in a small community? Will I have enough money to provide me with the basics? Those are big decisions that come down to the essentials...yes I can put a roof over my head with my business...but is it enough to feed, clothe and provide me with health insurance? BIG decisions. If it were only me, I would take the leap, but there is another person involved who partially depends on my secondary income. I'm with KJ on this one......
Bead Happy and thank you for the thought provoking post.

Erin that message is so true! We (my hubby and I) have been a wrasslin and finally committed regarding our future and we so feel better now. And I actually submitted something on my own too! I know we did the right thing (and I will see if my submission produces anything soon I hope) Committment is the key!

Hugs

Ah! A little self awareness!
Here goes....

Do you know what is right for you? Yes!

Are you a-wrasslin' with a big decision? No.

Do you have issues with committing? No, I overly commit.

What doors do you have to knock on? I only approach open doors.

What stones do you have to overturn? Just the ones that have settled for mediocrity.

What do you think you will find there? Rich, fertile soil, ready for seed planting!

the video on abs was terrific! so very impressive (but not surprising)...

do you know what is right for you? if i listen to my inner voice, yes (and i don't let the filters and years of waxy buildup get in the way)...

issues with committing? no, i am like shannon that way... i put too much on my plate...

what doors do you have to knock on? the ones i block myself from due to fear...

big decision? yes indeed...

what stones do you have to overturn? any that i would if i was spontaneous, the ones that call to me...

what do you think you will find there? opportunity, freedom, pure self-expression, inventiveness, joy, a chest that isn't tight...

I'm struggling with some decisions but I'm ok with them -- it's all a timing issue right now. And a little bit of a confidence thing as well.

I hope your venture goes well!

How many can I say yes to? lol

I need (would like) to change my business name. I'm on a first name basis with GoDaddy these days. Just call it Go. He calls me Indecisive.

I'm having pricing issues. mental pricing issues. gah!

Enough said. Great post.
