Mark Your Calendars! Color Palette Blog Walk
My friend Brandi from CatiesBlue makes the most stunning jewelry. It is infused with color and life and is so yummy I want to lick every piece (is that so wrong?). I am waffling now with just which piece will come and live with me. I love to support other artists and I have been coveting Brandi's work since the moment I laid eyes on it. And really, so affordable. I must make one mine.
Brandi is sponsoring a special blog walk from February 28th to March 4th and I have jumped on in with both feet and my eyes closed filled with blind faith and dumb luck! Blind because I had no idea how to make a palette and dumb luck that Brandi has so graciously designed a template for us to use!
Each of the 20 bloggers who signed up come from vastly different blogging worlds. Some are fellow jewelry artists, or color enthusiasts, or extraordinary photographers, or general lifestyle observers. I think that this hop will be fun and introduce me to new bloggers I may not have known before. That is the thrill of challenges and blog hops for me... to have the potential to meet new friends or see those that I am friends with in a new light and always it is about inspiration. I have met the most incredible souls through hops like this. Maybe you will, too!
Brandi has parsed out only 4 blogs per day (very manageable in hopping terms), and we're all going to be blogging and creating new color palettes around things that inspire us using our own photos. My turn to post will be right away on Monday, February 28th, and we'll be sharing our thoughts about each color palette we've made. If you love color, too, you can follow along with the fun below!
Check out the BrandiGirlBlog for tons of inspiration, tutorials, e-books, encouragement, and don't forget her juicy jewelry at her new gorgeous new website CatiesBlue.
Be sure to check back starting on Monday to see what inspires this incredibly talented crew!

Answer me this...
What do you like about blog hops?
Is it the thrill of discovering a new-to-you blog?
The potential for making new friends?
Peeking through the curtains of their little world?
Do you participate in blog hops? If the answer is no... why not?
Do you travel around blog hops even if you are not participating?
Or do you only hop with the ones that you are involved with?
Do tell!
And do come back for a very rare Saturday blog post for me as I blog about the Bead Soup that I am concocting for the Mother of all Blog Hops, and also stop by Art Bead Scene on Saturday for my very first Studio Saturday post with a giveaway!
Enjoy the day!

Oh yes, her jewelry is gorgeous and 'lick-worthy'. I've been drooling over it for a while now. The blog hop sounds like fun and a great way to meet new artists.
Good questions Erin! I really like blog hops, and I will very likely hop around the color palette blog hop. I also will attempt to view the Bead Soup blog hop, but I can't guarantee I'll get to all 200+ blogs - that's alot of hopping!
I like the blog hops for many of your same reasons. I like to discover new blogs, and many times I'll become a follower while I'm there. I love seeing what other jewelry artists are doing and I get lots of inspiration.
I did not participate in Lori's bead soup blog hop for a couple reasons - It got really big, really fast and I was a little intimidated. I also did not feel like giving myself deadlines. I was afraid that I would not get my soup to my partner on time, finish my soup on time, etc.
I participated in your color palette challenge, and really enjoyed it. We had lots of time to do it, and I was completely inspired. I also liked Lorelei's Michaels challenge. It was so interesting to see what different people did with the same materials. I thought it was inspiring and fascinating.
I'm with you on Monday! I had such a blast choosing a photo and making the colors my own. It was a fun challenge.
Blog hops are fun, but can be overwhelming...I'm reading the other comments you've gotten. I find, though, that I need a deadline once in a while for my craftiness otherwise I just wander around randomly in my thoughts.
So, we'll see you for soup over the weekend!!
Take care
Jen
Thanks for sharing Brandi her collection is breath taking. Enjoy your blog adventure sounds like so much fun :)
Aww, friend, thanks for the sweet words! And thanks for the lovely, lovely compliments. You all totally made my day so much better.
I'm excited for the Color Palette Blog Hop! I'm excited to see what people come up with. I've taken part in a few blog hops now (besides my own), and I do enjoy doing them. I like finding new blogs and peeking into people's thought processes. I make a point of trying to get over to every participant in whatever blog hop/walk is going on, because if I like comment love, so does everyone else!
I love blog hops for the same reasons. I love meeting new friends and celebrating the accomplishments of my current friends! I will check this one out too!
Erin, everything that everyone has said has been spot on...Blog Hops are so much fun, intimidating at times, deadlines scare me but force me to do the work, they're alot of fun (yes, I repeated that intentionally), and most importantly, I've met some wonderful people on blog hops that I never would have met had I not done them! I can't wait to hop with you on Monday and explore this color palate thing a tad more!
