I managed to use two of the three beads in designs. I will save the third for inspiration to strike another day.
The first is a long necklace using a Humblebeads feather that just happened to match the purple pressed flower bead. I found a washer lying around and wrapped it in bronze colored wire. The lines of the wire radiate out like the flower and also mimic the lines on the feather. I love the ease of long necklaces that just slip on and go. I really don't like the chain that I used so I will be swapping that out for something a bit simpler. I was getting a little too artsy-fartsy asymmetrical on that one! ;-)
This second one came together exactly as I imagined it would. When your vision matches the reality, that is a good sign! I used this strand of rudraksha beads that I bought at the Bead & Button show knotted on brown waxed linen. For the focal area I used some flat flower shaped beads that are magnesite in a cream color. The polymer clay birdie from Humblebeads is sitting in a brass leaf bead cap and a rhinestone studded nest. Below the flower beads is a Vintaj leaf that I hammered a leafy texture on. This little birdie looks Right at Home in this nest, don't you think?

Both your designs are wonderful! Well done!
ReplyDeleteLove what you have done with Sue's beads, Miss Erin, the bird looks very happy on her nest!
ReplyDeleteAs usual, your designs are amazing! I love your washer/wire link and you are right, the humblebeads feather went perfectly. The necklace is stunning, I love the magnesite beads! Thanks so much for playing along and making my beads look awesome!

ReplyDeleteI love what you have done. The wrapped washer was a nice element to echo the leaf veins. And I have to say that set of beads was the one I coveted before I "went cab".
So the third bead - wonder what magic you will create with that one?!
I absolutely adore the bird in the rhinestone nest. lol! So cute. I would wear that necklace all the time. The wire wrapped washer on the first one is a really cool effect and looks great with the leaf. Both necklaces are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThank you for reading AJE and participating in the challenge! Having you is always a delight :-)
Oh so purrty! The necklace with the birdie is my fave!
ReplyDeleteBoth of your necklaces are wonderful. I love how they highlight the flower bead.
ReplyDelete2 gorgeous necklaces! Especially love the second one :)
ReplyDeleteHi Miss Erin,
ReplyDeleteBoth necklaces are beautiful! Yes the little bird looks very pretty in it's crystal studded nest.

Both lovely designs Erin but I do like the second very much. I was given some Rudraksha beads in last years BSBP and fell in love with them - so warm and tactile and they works so well with your other beads selections and the lovely palette. Sue's chicklet looks most comfortable there.
ReplyDeleteAll three are fabulous pieces. They all make me smile with their fun designs.
ReplyDeleteLovely designs! Love the colors in the first one. I also love the simple slip on and go jewelry. The bird necklace is adorable...such a wonderful way you used the elements! And as always...I'm so jealous of your fantastic ability to name your designs ;)
ReplyDeleteDear Erin,
ReplyDeletethis is so wonderful,
I am always excited to see what you make!

Without a doubt I knew you would rock these beads!!! Another amazing and beautiful creation Miss Erin!
ReplyDeleteIt never ceases to amaze me how you can pick the perfect beads that compliment each other!
ReplyDeleteThese chiclets really can hold their own in a pendant focal--I love that about their size, they're very versatile. I love what you've done with these, especially the second piece. Both pendants are so perfectly proportioned, and all the different finishes work so nicely together. LOVE the beads and the knotting on the second piece in particular.
ReplyDeleteIncredible as always. What I always admire to combine elments from different artists into unique focals. The sum is so much more then the components.
ReplyDeleteI love both these necklaces, but I'm going to buck the trend and say that I like the first one the best. I love how easily it would slip on and go with many outfits. I also like the wire wrapped effect on the washer. You really rocked Sue's chicklets! Glad you could play along!
