Did you know that today, March 10th every year is the International Day of Awesomeness?
I found this out through my friend and inspirationalist Lance Ekum through his collaborative blog The Jungle of Life.
Why March 10th? Well, the organizer, Kevin Lawver, says that March 10th is Chuck Norris' birthday. Not because of Chuck himself, but because it is just such an awesome day!
They encourage Feats of Awesomeness and even have a Twitter account where people are registering their thoughts about being awesome!

So what can you do to celebrate your awesomeness and the awesomeness of others?
My friend Lance says...
Jump up and down!
Eat ice cream!
Kiss your neighbor! (okay...on second thought, maybe you want to save that one until March 18th...Awkward Moments Day!)
Light a candle!
Do a back flip!
Dance in the streets!
Sing a song!
Tell someone how awesome they are!
Jump up and down!

Write an honest to goodness letter to someone telling them you think they are awesome

ReplyDeleteThank you for the eye post Erin and the visual extravaganza!! Those are wonderful posters. As I was reading this I realized something I don't think I have ever thought of myself as awesome. My mom who is a wonderful kind and loving lady, always thought that being positive and saying positive things about yourself was bragging, so I think in my subconscious and outward self I didn't ever toot my own horn. I am trying to be better about saying nice things about myself but it is definitely a work in progress.

I wasn't feeling awesome at all today, but after reading all about being AWeSoME, I think I can go with it! Erin, you are awesome every day, really!! Loved the Hippo in the last picture because that's hubby's nickname for almost his entire life!
