BTW: Art Bead Scene Sponsor

"I have no time to be in a hurry."

Dang. Ain't that the truth!

I am one of three sponsors for this month's Art Bead Scene challenge. I created four charms using the motifs from the challenge painting: crescent moon, two with bicycles and one with lilies. All have a quote on the back (except for the moon which is single sided).

These will go to one random winner at the end of the month from all challenge entries on the Flickr page. Plus I run the monthly blog tour showcasing all of them. If you haven't entered you really should. It is fun for me to create the end of the month blog tour, and I am sure that it gives exposure to those people who participate.

Other than creating these, I am almost finished with the 'simple truths' samplers for August that will be going out by the end of the week, I made about a dozen more charms and pendants and two more toggles and so my fingers are generally stained and grungy.

There are custom orders that people are waiting patiently for (hi Sharon! hi Betty! hi Joann! hi Erin! hi Nancy! This is me waving!;-).

Then there is that Blurb book. Oh, I never came back and told you... but we WON the final tournament of the year, all 5 games by hefty margins. There was some awesome hitting going on. Woot! That means that my boys of summer had a tournament record of 26-1. So proud of them all! I need to finish up that book by tomorrow night to get it in the process to be ordered. Yikes!

And in addition to that, my 25th class reunion is coming up this weekend, and I am in the process of whipping up a necklace to wear with my hot red dress and suh-weet shoes! (Remember those?) Hopefully I will finish that by Thursday night and then I can share. But I will tell you that it has a Green Girl Studios pewter heart with a key toggle and a Basha bead (you should go check out the new ones that Andrew put in his shop. Breathtaking! And yes, since I now have 5 of them, I can tell you that they are worth.every.penny. and totally hoard-worthy!).

What is on your bead table today? Come on over and see what everyone else is up to!

  1. Erin,

I've been trying to enter more challenges to keep my creative juices going. The last 16 months have been tough around our home and I have to force myself to sit at my beading table.
I can't wait to make something for the ABS challenge--the inspiration art is amazing!

And I can't wait to see what treasure comes in the mail in for the simple truths pendants. I am going to have to sign up for another round (maybe after Christmas) because I love the anticipation, and relish opening your sweet package. You have not dissapointed me yet!

Congratulations to the team on a great year! Sounds like a reason to celebrate big time!

I'm getting ready for my 30th reunion, but there will be no party dress or hot red shoes. We're going casual, and in this small rural town that can mean anything.

  2. I hoard all my Bashas as well! I haven't used one of them since I started collecting them last year. Can't wait to see your new necklace.

  3. You know I am trying to enter more challenges to stretch my creativity but "Art Beads" are not usually in my stash (except of course the few Julsbeads I totally hoard!) But I will see what I have and check out the challenge (actually I should reverse that but hey you know me)

  4. Where the Hell is my pendant?!! Just kidding. ;-)
Well now I'm going to submit something to art bead scene for sure! Maybe I'll get lucky.

  5. Big Congrats to the Team!! Their book will be fantastic.
Red - hands down, my fav color. You will look stunning. Look forward to seeing your necklace (and you wearing it).
