Today, we are
closing the door on a lengthy chapter of our life
17 years
in the home we built
filled with love and dreams
All the firsts of our life happened there
first anniversary
first pet
first child
first steps
first day of school
Now
we can fully move on
to building a life
filled with love and dreams
in the space that we have
lived in limbo
for the past 12 months
hoping to celebrate
all new firsts
When one door closes, another opens
filled with promise.
What doors are opening for you?
What doors are closing for you?
Enjoy the day!
Congratulations! Oh, and by the way, I absolutely love the necklace in your heading, it really is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteOh Erin what a relief and yet just a little bittersweet. I know this feeling and while there is joy in the newness of it there is still sadness at letting go of a piece of our very own history. Don't worry those memories will still be there and there is so many more you will make here. Love the new house.
ReplyDeleteHappy, Happy Holidays!
Best of luck on this next chapter! The new home is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! May you and you family fill this home with love and memories for years to come. I consider every day as an open door and I enter planning to do my very best and hoping that I do not do anything I will not be proud of when the door closes on the day.
ReplyDeleteCoNgRaTs on this new chapter in your life and happy unpacking and organizing in your new space! I wish the door was closing on my corporate life, but that appears to be waiting with no end in sight for now. The new door opening is really just a small one in which I need to figure out how to better manage my time and multi-task with all of the things I want to be doing in my glass business.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations - I know this has been long in the coming and sometimes, it is good to be able to close a door, in order to be able to go forward.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy for you Erin to be moving into your new home,it is such an exciting time! A new home is full of promise and hope....and usually lots more extra room. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a thoughtful post. What is life but the swinging of doors open and closed? Best of luck on your move, and moving forward. Exciting and bittersweet, I imagine.

ReplyDeleteCongrats on selling your old house...I know that it is bittersweet...but now those worries of 2 mortgages will be over and you can truly settle into your new home.

Oh my ... I thought this had happened so long ago!! It is bittersweet to leave behind the scene of so many memories but when you are moving into the cutest sweetest house I've ever seen, I'm sure you'll build even more memories to fill this new house with love!
ReplyDeleteOh it is truely a bittersweet moment - we moved from our first home 41/2 years ago. It was waaay too tiny but I was bawling that day and I still miss it! I was so sure I would be happy to move on but this house is still not quite there. Our other house had so much history we are in the same town and still drive by it!
ReplyDeleteYour house sold!! This is big news after all of this time!!! Oh, I can only imagine (just as Kristen said) how bittersweet this is. I know that feeling as we left previous houses...especially since the kids were born while we were in each one and they held so many special memories. Here's looking to the future though and all of the new memories you are creating in your new home!!
