on my Maggie Pearl

tri-color foam

and a

touchless swirl of water

baptized

her to

new life for Spring.

If lions roar

rib-rattling coughs,

and trumpeting nose-blows,

March let loose a lioness on me

with a swift swipe of

'almost'

pneumonia

(xrays, inhalers, antibiotics included)

and I whimper.

I remember

foolish times when

donuts

involved a car,

an icy parking lot and

enhanced Shamrock Shakes.

Not recommended.

I now prefer mine

with chocolate icing and

sprinkles

on top.
